To play as Thanos, finish the game in any skill level (using as many continues as it takes), then save the data. At the Player Select screen, quickly press Up. Then press and hold Up, and press and hold L1, Tri, and Square in this order. Thanos's face should appear in the character window.
Note: The Short Cut mode must be off for this cheat to work.
Different-Colored Fighters
To change the color of characters on the top row, put the cursor over the character you want to select, then press and hold Up for at least five seconds and press any button. To change the color of characters on the bottom row, put the cursor over the character you want to select, press and hold Down for five seconds and press any button. Play as Doctor Doom
Finish the game in Arcade mode with any fighter on any skill setting and save the data. Make sure the buttons are set to the default setting and the Shortcut mode is off. At the fighter- select screen, press Down, Down, press and hold X, press and hold Cir, and press R1. Doctor Doom's face will appear in the character window.

Play as Anita* and No Gems During Fights
Play as Anita: Finish the game in Arcade mode with any fighter on any skill setting and save the data. Make sure the buttons are set to the default and the Short Cut is off. At the fighter-select screen, press Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, press and hold X, press and hold Y, and press Z. When the fight starts, you'll play as Anita from Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge.
No Gems During Fights: In the Versus mode, Player One should simultaneously press and hold L and R at the beginning of the match. The words "No Gems" will flash at the bottom of the screen. While the words are flashing, Player Two should simultaneously press and hold L and R until the words stop flashing
