A magnificent intergalactic adventure with innovative special effects,
an equally effective soundtrack, and archetypal characters that
embody good or evil. Though similar in storyline and approach to the
old-time science-fiction serials it pays homage to, the film is far
more sophisticated and hip than that type of film fare. Writer/Directer
George Lucas built an empire on the success of this film, which
spawned two sequels and breathed life into the science-fiction
genre. The film made stars of it's principals, and became a pop-culture
artifact of the 1970's. Winner of several technical Academy
Awards, plus one for John Williams' highly recognize score.
Also with Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Cushing, and David Prowse.

Space-opera maestro George Lucas, creator of Star Wars : A New Hope,

far, far away. It's a worthy and sumptuous sequel, with action galore
and imaginative special effects that are special indeed. Old friends
are back-Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C3-PO-gallantly
defending the Rebel Forces from the evil Emperor. And there's a startling
plot twist involving archvillain Darth Vader. Also with Alec Guinness, David
Prowse, Frank Oz, and Anthony Daniels. The film won an Academy
Awards for special achievement in visual effects. Director-Irvin

George Lucas' third chapter in the Star Wars saga offers the expected
array of spectacular effects and colorful space creatures-including
some we haven't seen before. The elaborate space opera also provides
the answers to the mystery involving Luke Skywalker's relationships
with Darth Vader and Princess Leia. More sentimental than the other
two enteries in the trilogy, which ultimately mars the muchawaited
finale. Also with Billy Dee Williams, David Prowse, and Kenny Baker.
